Starting Monday, April 29, 2024, the long-awaited repairs to the flood damage on Highway 11 at Willband Creek in Abbotsford begin. Commuters should be prepared for traffic pattern adjustments during the project's duration.

Between Valley Road and Bateman Road, drivers will notice a slight shift in the four lanes of Highway 11. This adjustment is necessary for the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure's contractor to commence repairs on the highway, which sustained damage from the November 2021 atmospheric river flooding.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, single-lane closures will be in operation for approximately two weeks starting April 29, as the initial work to reconfigure the lanes gets underway. Once all four lanes have been shifted, anticipated by the end of May, these altered lanes will persist until repairs and final paving conclude in October.

Travelers coming to this section of Highway 11 should allocate additional time for their journey. A reduced speed limit will be enforced in the vicinity, and drivers are urged to adhere to signage and instructions from traffic control personnel.
